Join Sam in this afternoon workshop introducing you to the ancient art of Ayurveda: a traditional system of medicine which is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems using diet, herbal treatment and yogic breathing.
During the afternoon you’ll discover your dominant dosha: There are three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – which are derived from the five elements. Also known as mind-body types, the doshas express unique blends of physical, emotional and mental characteristics. In Ayurveda, health is defined as the dynamic state of balance between mind, body and environment.
Sam will then take you through a practical session of asana followed by relevant breathing practices for each dosha finishing off with a deep relaxation. The session will be rounded off by tea and something simple to eat to enliven the senses.
You’ll be provided with handouts relevant to your specific dosha type, including lifestyle suggestions, recipes and further reading.

What to bring
If you have a yoga mat or props, please bring them with you. If you need to borrow a mat then do let us know otherwise simply wear something loose and comfortable. No shorts please.
