Join us on a day long retreat combining yoga, tai chi, yoga nidra, meditation, creative art and the outdoor labyrinth to explore the magical element of water.
Only footsteps away from the sea at St Margarets, we take the ocean and flowing water as our theme for the day at The Pines Calyx. A beautiful light filled roundel with panoramic views over the white cliffs and across the channel.
We’ll start the morning off with matcha tea, a super drink that delivers a mega dose of antioxidants in every sip. It aids concentration, improves metabolism and burns calories – certain to get your day started with a burst of energy.
The morning then continues with a flowing yoga sequence reflecting the nearby water. Situated in the lower roundel, the floor is recycled fishing nets shaped in the image of the sea, which leads us gently into a guided meditation.
We believe our wellbeing is enhanced with creative art and so we shall be making mandalas, using water based paints and visualisations of the sea to create your own special memories. There will also be plenty of time for you to walk in the Calyx’s beautiful labyrinth, perfect for silent meditation. Bring some appropriate clothing just in case!
After an exquisite home cooked lunch, from locally sourced produce and vegetables organically grown in the Trusts gardens, our afternoon will continue with qi-gong and tai chi.
Then, for the remainder of the day we’ll take you through a mystical journey experiencing fluidity of the hips, flowing yoga, light formations and a deep yoga nidra with an incredible ambiance only the Pines Calyx can provide.

The Pines Calyx is situated in the secluded St Margaret’s Bay, about forty minutes drive from Ashford. All drinks and a delicious home cooked lunch included. Suitable for all levels including beginners. Postcode is CT15 6DZ.
