A new Monday morning has just been announced, ready for the new year. What a wonderful Christmas gift idea for a loved one. A tai chi course helping them learn this simple exercise that everyone can benefit from.
This particular form (or sequence) has been created specifically for those who suffer with diabetes, however that doesn’t preclude those who are fit and well or those with other health conditions. Please do come along as everyone is welcome!
The course will be 9 weeks long, starting on 15th January and running through to spring time. You’ll learn a full form based on Sun and Yang style tai chi which you will be able to practice at home on your own after completing the course.
In addition to the fundamental 11 movements, it contains an advanced 9 movement set, warm-up, wind down, and Qigong breathing exercises.
Tai chi is very repetitious so you get lots and lots of practice time to go over the moves, making you feel really comfortable and not rushed. This course is easy to learn and helps to improve heart/lung function, muscular strength, flexibility, balance, and stress reduction. And remember – you don’t have to have diabetes to take part!
Jennie Lichfield is our most experienced tai chi teacher and currently teaches throughout the community, in large institutions as well as special wellbeing events around the county.
