  • SallyAnn and Jennie teach in an authentic way, with kindness and integrity – and as a result so you will too.
  • Perfect if you want to study over a longer period of time, fitting in with work and home life commitments.

Our yoga teacher training is deeply transformative experience and requires a commitment not only from the teachers, but from students as well.  We shall embark on this journey together and Jennie and Sally-Ann are here to help guide you through this process. From our years of experience, we know that to become a yoga teacher we must practice and realise the teachings. They are an embodied experience. This can only come from dedicated effort and a sincere desire to learn, evolve and create. Students will need to have demonstrated a yogic attitude through their conduct over the course, their homework and yogic attitude encompassing specifically ahimsa, svadhaya and satya.

The course will be delivered on Saturday’s and Sunday’s, over 10 weekends starting in September 2018. These weekends will be 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am – 6pm on Sundays. They will consist of a morning workshop, open to other students too on the the Saturday morning. Then we will break for lunch and continue our learning together. The Sunday will not be open to others as we shall spend the day learning the course content together.

You will be expected to:

  • attend all training modules
  • complete one written assignment per module (approx 2 hours)
  • present satisfactory coursework whilst on the course
  • attend one yoga class per week for the duration of the training programme (evidenced)

You must have at least two years yoga practice of your own to attend this course. Your application form will need to include a written reference from your yoga teacher. Click here to download your application form.

Delivery of Materials

The workshop on Saturdays will be open to regular yogis to attend so you’ll be with students that you might not know. This asana work will form the basis of the module and will be delivered by SallyAnn and potential other guest teachers.

Any online materials will be delivered via email or through the Liberty Wellbeing website where you will have passworded access to a secure area of the site.

Course manuals will also be provided in paper form. There is no extra charge as all training materials will be provided.

The Teachers

Sally Ann Cranage and Jennie Lichfield both have over a decade of experience in the yoga, mindfulness and therapeutic environments. They are both members of the Independent Yoga Network who will accredit the course, and who ensure our integrity of teaching and methodology.

We may also invite guest teachers who we believe will add value to your learning experience and also for the examination process.

All training modules will take place in Ashford, Kent. They will be held at the Kennington WI Hall however we anticipate one weekend only being held in another nearby location. It is the October weekend – more news on that to follow.

What type of yoga classes would I be able to teach upon completion?

You will be able to teach hatha or ‘general’ yoga classes. This is the most common form of yoga and is best suited to beginners.

Will there be written assignments?
Each module comprises 16 hours of contact time with Sally-Ann, our Director of Studies. Therefore there is some time allocated for written work. As is often the case, the more time and effort you put into your research and note taking, the more you will benefit in the long term. We envisage each written piece of work to take approximately four hours. You will also be encouraged to attend one yoga class per week.
Will I be given yoga classes within Liberty Wellbeing?

We are always working hard on the development of the company and the size of the timetable will continue to grow. However the course does not entitle you to a role within the company upon completion. You will be able to approach health clubs, gyms or spa’s for work and of course hire a village hall and teach your own classes

What would the certification be at the end of the course?

The certification is a 200 hour yoga teacher training certification accredited with the Independent Yoga Network. You will be able to call yourself a yoga teacher and apply for jobs and insurance using that title.

How many students do you expect on the course?

Whilst we don’t want to restrict numbers applying for our courses, we realise that over crowding can impeded people’s learning. We aim for between 8 – 14 yogi’s to attend.
